Stress Relief & Recovery Rituals

Incorporating stress-relieving rituals into my healthy and active lifestyle is key. Many underestimate their importance, viewing them as a luxury due to time constraints. However, my relaxation routine is as brief yet effective as my lymphatic massages. Engaging in these practices 2 or 3 times per week yields amazing results.

1. Enjoy Herbal Homemade Tea
Prepare a special stress-relieving homemade tea with a blend of chamomile and ginger, known for their calming properties. Opt for whole dried chamomile flowers for optimal flavor. Use 3-4 chamomile flowers and 1.5 inches of fresh ginger per 4 cups of boiling water. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes to infuse the soothing and spicy flavors.

2. Indulge in a Detox Bath
While your tea is brewing, prepare a detox bath with Epsom salt, preferably pharmaceutical-grade lavender-scented salt. Add 1 cup of salt to your bath for deep relaxation. Epsom salt has a long history of health benefits, including relaxing the nervous system, reducing inflammation, easing pain, treating skin issues, and eliminating toxins from the body. It's an excellent remedy for sore muscles resulting from physical activity or workouts, as it replenishes magnesium levels absorbed through the skin. Magnesium aids in producing serotonin, promoting a sense of calm and enhancing mood.

3. Nourish Your Mind
Sometimes I just like to light up some candles, dim the light and enjoy my bath quietly or with some binaural beats playing softly in the background and focus on my aspirations and everything that I’m grateful for. Keeping a positive outlook on life and a positive attitude has helped me so many times through tough situations, that it’s something I try to work on consistently. It’s not always easy and it requires some mental training, but it is just as worth the effort as it is to get a massage for your body. If my thoughts start to spiral and it’s hard for me to focus on the positive, I pick up an interesting book to give my mind a break.  Reading is a great way to nourish your mind and exercise your imagination and creativity. Sometimes I get lost in an interesting story and after 15 minutes I can’t even remember what I was stressing about.
